Don't you just hate it when your mobile phone battery wont even last until you get home? How it goes flat every time you talk, use the camera, listen to a song or browse the internet? It really is very frustrating to have a weak battery that cannot hold much power to last a day with average activity. Reasons for a weak battery are the misuse of the battery and the lack of proper maintenance. The capacity of a mobile phone battery is measured by its standby time and talk time. It is measured in milli-amph hours (mAh). Rechargeable batteries have three main types, Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH), and Lithium Ion (LiIon). Lithium Ion (LiIon) batteries are what you find in most mobile phones and in order to preserve the battery you might want to follow these steps.
The basic rule of getting a replacement battery is that it should have the same voltage as the original. An 18V drill cannot run on a 12V battery. It can only run on a 18V battery. The other thing is that the physical packaging of a battery can be different from company to company. A 12V Ryobi battery may not fit into a 12V Makita cordless drill unless the battery has the right physical dimensions. So make sure the replacement battery looks the same as the old one before you order it. Also, if you are looking for a replacement battery of the same voltage rating and by the same company, know that battery technology is changing rapidly. An 18V lithium-ion battery has a different physical packaging than a NiCad 18V battery.
And charging is eddy stock the best thing about Li-ion batteries there's absolutely no memory effect. And they charge quickly. Battery manufacturers always like to say they've reduced the memory effect, or even 'virtually eliminated' it. But it's never true, you might get away with charging the battery from half full every now and again, but if you keep topping them up then the capacity always goes down. With Li-ion they don't need to reduce the memory effect, there isn't one.
2) Battery freshness: often overlooked. Always make sure you have the freshest battery possible. A battery can lose it's ability to hold a charge as time goes on. You want batteries that move off of shelves quickly to be sure they aren't old.
For the most part, laptops do not come with batteries with extended life periods. For example, the typical laptop Lithium battery stocks will only last around an hour or so, which leaves you little to no time for work or communication while on the go, unless you happen to be nearby a place for charging. Then it kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop for most people anyways. The laptop is supposed to be mobile. In order to make your laptop fit your lifestyle best, you will need to make sure you look for high quality laptop batteries.
Use the charger that you got with the netbook and as long as possible avoid using re-manufactured unit. If it somehow breaks or gets lost opt for a branded replacement or apply for a replacement through warranty An inappropriate one not only can break your battery Lithium mines Ontario but can cause fire hazard too.
If your drill didn't come with a second battery (my cordless Bosch drill did) than you will either have to purchase a second battery or take a short break until your battery is ready.
